In 2012 we provided screens for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. We attended planning meetings which started one year before the event, many site meetings and discussions to meet the technical challenges and implementation of the 17 screens. Our advice was paramount in how the different signals were transmitted throughout the day.
The timing of the installations was controlled by road closures and once the closures were implemented it gave us a maximum of 3 hours to install 17 screens, align 17 satellite systems and hook up 17 sets of line arrays, all powered from our screen trucks. In one location this would have been a challenge, but, for this event, we had to deliver at 17 different locations to service the biggest single event in the UK this century serving millions of spectators. LMD had all 17 screens up, running and tested in 2 hours from the road closures, which was a testament to the planning, the coordination of the technicians and management we had on this project.
