BRINGING HOLLYWOOD TO YOU!
Outdoor Film screenings make a great event and have become very popular within the events industry. With our mobile LED screens, we can be set up and running in 30 minutes.
Picnic Style: We can provide local sound for your audience.
Drive-In: We can provide our FM transmission equipment if your audience is viewing from their vehicles, this enables the sound to be transmitted through their car radios.
There are so many great location choices, city centres, beaches or parks – Match the location with a good film and you have the ingredients for a fantastic event!
ROYAL NATIONAL THEATRE, SOUTHBANK, LONDON
This was a great event to work on – the 21sqm mobile LED screen was set up at 10.30am on the morning of the event, and tested – then we were asked to park the screen away from site as it wasn’t required until the evening. At 7pm we were asked to bring the screen back to the side of the stage as quickly as possible, as the clients were on a quick turnaround, we were timed and the screen was all set up and showing live content in a record time of 2 minutes 52 seconds!!
The clients were using the screen to show a live broadcast of national theatre live before and after the film screening of “One Man & Two Guvnors” to an audience sat outside the Royal National Theatre on Southbank, London.
Thousands attend a screening in Trafalgar Square after Director boycotts Oscars!
Lily Cole, Damon Albarn and Mariella Frostrup join Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and thousands of activists supporting Iranian director boycotting the Oscars over Trump’s travel ban.
Lightmedia built the biggest modular LED screen Trafalgar Square has ever seen for the Oscar Award Winning Film “The Salesman” by Iranian Film Director Asghar Farhadi.
LMD provided and installed the enormous Modular LED screen with production facilities for the play out along with live cameras and VT.
Our crew commenced the build at 2am and finished at 6am ready for testing. The event was a fantastic success with higher than anticipated crowds.
Drive-in movies are perfect if you’re looking for a socially distanced event to fill the “cultural void” we’re all currently craving due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
A few tips …
- To utilise the FM Transmission equipment (enabling sound through your audiences’ vehicle radios) you would need to obtain a radio frequency license via Ofcom. The license would need to be booked 6-8 weeks prior to your event, so please bear this in mind when you are organising your event date.
- LMD will provide the DVD player & equipment to show your film, however you would need to contact the distributor of your chosen film, we recommend: www.filmbankmedia.com
