Race for Life launches the first women-only marathon in the UK, and is calling all women to unite and help beat cancer sooner Feeling inspired by the Virgin Money London Marathon? Sign up to the UK’s very first women-only marathon and you could help to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Focused on going the distance, not beating the clock, Race for Life Marathon is a great way to make a difference, while being supported all the way to the finish line. Lightmedia Displays Limited are delighted to be involved in the UK’s very first women-only marathon and with just six months to go, now is the perfect time to sign up and get outside, as the summer months provide the ideal backdrop to any training programme. Taking place on Sunday 4th October in Lee Valley Park, London, participants can choose between the Full or Half Marathon as women take on the courageous female-only event and help raise vital funds to cure all 200 types of cancer. Standing alongside Race for Life 5k, 10k and Pretty Muddy series of events, Race for Life Marathon is designed for women who didn’t think they had a Marathon in them. It aims to support runners every step of the way and be the most accessible and supportive Marathon in the UK. Everyone taking part in Race for Life Marathon has their own story and will be encouraged to wear a back sign to celebrate and remember loved ones who have fought cancer. By uniting in their common goal, women across the UK will raise vital funds for research and help unite in the charge against cancer. Anthony Newman, Director of Product Marketing at Race for Life said: ‘’Twenty years ago Race for Life changed the face of women’s running in the UK, and we’re delighted to be trail-blazing once again with the UK’s first ever women only Marathon. We hope thousands of women will join us for the journey of a lifetime to unleash the Marathon in them. Every pound raised at the Race for Life Marathon will help fund our life-saving research into all 200 types of cancer, affecting men, women and children. By encouraging women to take part in the UK’s first women-only marathon and fundraise for us, we hope to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.” Sign up to Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life Marathon at www.raceforlife.org and we will beat cancer sooner

Having the meeting with Ian before the event was very helpful -actually going through how things work is really useful – especially if people are non tech. Ian was great – very helpful – great to have him and team onboard at the event.
|Beth and Kim in the office were both very helpful and the team on site were great especially Ian who went out of his way to get things right for the show. A pleasure to work with.

We would like to say a huge THANK YOU. Not only did you save us from having to cancel an event that was planned months in advance but also you restored our faith in the community spirit. We were let down by a similar company, a day prior to the planned event with no warning or communication.
What a result, the event was such a success thanks to your kindness and we received amazing reviews.
