World Cup Fever

What a June/July we’ve had – we truly got hit by the World Cup Madness! From the first England match on the 24th of June to the last one on the 11th of July it has been none stop at Lightmedia!

The Lightmedia team worked around the clock to make sure everything was ready in time, as most events were last minute due to England doing so well. Our office staff were busy dealing with logistics, while our technicians were prepping the equipment ready for all the jobs. We couldn’t believe the amount of interest we received over this period, our organic SEO during the football went up 416% compared to last July!

In the group stages, we were busy providing LED screens in Nottingham, Manchester, Birstall, Bradford, Reading, London and Congleton. We then saw England finish second in Group G moving on in the World Cup.

Tuesday the 3rd of July was England’s first game after the group stages, we provided screens at events all over the country including Nottingham, Manchester, Middlesbrough, Congleton and Sheffield, as well as providing screens for Wimbledon coverage.  It wasn’t until England won this game that the madness really began. From 9pm, our phones went off the hook, quite literally requests came in in their 100s, existing clients calling wanting to book additional screens at their events to show the matches and new clients wanting to book in advance as they were positive England were going to win the World Cup!

From the 7th July – 15th July all our screens/equipment etc. were all hired out! Clients called last minute asking for a screen, we had to apologise and explain that we had no availability as everything had been booked in advance.  This was unheard of from Lightmedia as we always manage to pull it out of the bag.

Although we are happy to have a bit of a breather, we enjoyed every minute and are looking forward to the Euros, hopefully, we will come out on top and go on to win the next World Cup.

Nottingham City Council – Remembrance Day

I’d like to say a massive thank you – the big screen looks so great at my event site and I think it just adds an extra touch for our participants! Working with you again this year has been excellent and your on the day technicians have been incredible too!

British Heart Foundation

I wanted to thank you for supplying the screen at the last moment, both the screen and the crew were superb and I ought to say that the lead technician/vision mixer was a really helpful guy for which nothing was too much trouble and for me it was a pleasure to work with. Once again, thank you for your services and I look forward to working with you again in the not too distant future.
